The Center for Protection and Social Rehabilitation (Aman) of the Qatar Foundation for Social Work, announced the opening of applications for the Women's Award until October 2022, QNA reported.
The award aims to encourage women to contribute to effective and influential societal roles, appreciate the role of distinguished women in society, push them to achieve more, and encourage institutions and companies to empower women through legislation and laws that achieve equality and justice for them, and raise the level of effective participation in the Aman Friends Club.
In this context, Director of Media and Communication Department at Aman Center Hanan al-Ali said that this award will be one of the annual projects of the Aman Center, adding that it will be divided into four areas: the best active woman in the field of women's empowerment, the best project to serve women, the best institution that supports women's empowerment, and the best volunteer in the Aman Friends Club.
Submitting applications for the award has been opened from April until October 2022, provided that the winners will be announced at the end of December in a ceremony organised by the Center to honour the winners.
Al-Ali explained the most important conditions that must be considered by the nominees for the award, include completing the nomination form (electronically) and attaching all documents, sending two letters of recommendation from two different parties related to its field of activity (individuals or institutions), and conducting an interview with the jury. Those affiliated with Qatar Foundation for Social Work or its affiliates are not entitled to run for the award. She stressed the importance of the award in encouraging women to play a greater role in empowerment, and explained that the award is similar to many other awards in the country that encourage creativity and innovation in all fields.
