'Etqan' TV show highlights Qatar's achievements

The 'Etqan Show' has been launched on Qatar TV, showcasing various aspects of the country and its achievements.

The show will be telecast at 6.35pm daily during the holy month of Ramadan. Describing it, Qatar TV tweeted: 'Etqan is a programme that will shed light on the achievements of our beloved country, the great renaissance that Qatar has witnessed in the past two decades.""Thanks to Allah Almighty, the efforts of the work team and the support of Qatar Media Corporation, we are launching the first part of the 'Etqan' programme, which was filmed in more than 118 locations and the number of working hours reached 720. The programme sheds light on Qatar, under the title 'Qatar... An Extension of Islamic and Arab Civilisation'," eminent Qatari TV personality Ali bin Towar al-Kuwari said in a related tweet.He tweeted a video showing him sitting behind the steering wheel of a 1980s old school bus belonging to the country's educational authorities back then, to announce the launch of the 'Etqan (excellence) Show'. The inaugural episode was a prelude to what was to come. “From today, we will go into detail about several topics, in search of the secrets of Qatar's excellence in many fields, in the name of Allah and with Allah's blessing," he said.“The lifestyle in the past was simple, beautiful and rich thanks to the goodness of the contemporaries of that period. Allah bestowed upon us many good things, pearls, and oil, and these things were the spark that was used to light the path of the future. Today, thanks to Allah, we have distinguished ourselves in many matters and fields, in health, economy, aviation, security and industry, and many more," he continued. "There are two main pillars behind where we are today. The first is, without a doubt, success from Allah Almighty, and the second is the knowledge that, had it not been for our adherence to it, we would not have reached where we are today."The programme will feature specialists in various fields. Al-Kuwari said in the video, "In this series, we will follow the path of pride and glory, which started from simplicity and reached the global level. Are you ready, kids?" To which, a group of schoolchildren replied: "Yes, we are."Al-Kuwari is a Qatari television presenter as well as a traveller, an athlete and the author of 'The Life of an Adventurer'.
