QU among the world’s top for study of 19 subjects QU moves up in global ranking

Qatar University (QU) is named among the world’s top for the study of 19 subjects, according to Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings by Subject 2022, the world’s most-consulted university ranking.
As a result, QU has moved from 245 in 2021 to 224 in the 2022 ranking, effectively jumping 21 places. From the 19 subjects, 89% improved their positions, 0% decreased and 11% stayed the same. QU’s best performance is in Theology, Divinity & Religious Studies, and Sports-related subjects, a statement said.QU president Dr Hassan al-Derham said: “This year's ranking is a great improvement from the previous year and it also makes Qatar the 57th most represented country in the world. On this occasion, I would like to thank our colleges at QU and the faculty for their outstanding and ongoing efforts, which resulted in the recognition of the excellence and progress made by the University.”In Academic Reputation, QU’s best performance is in Theology, Divinity & Religious Studies, with a score of 67. In Employer Reputation, the university’s best performance came in sports-related subjects where it earned a score of 91.7. In Citations per Paper, Engineering - Electrical & Electronic is the subject in which QU earned the highest score, 98.9. In H-Index, the University received a score of 86.5 for Sports-related Subjects – its highest-scoring subject for this indicator.The rankings, compiled by global higher education analysts QS, provide authoritative comparative analysis on the performance of 15,200 individual university programmes, taken by students at 1,543 universities, which can be found in 88 locations across the world, across 51 academic disciplines.
