The Gulf Qatari Classic Car Association, in partnership with Msheireb Properties, inaugurated the Al Barahat Classic Car Show on Thursday at Msheireb Downtown Doha, featuring a host of “resplendently preserved vintage and classic cars that represent various decades”. The opening ceremony included a video message by HE Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim al-Thani, chairman of the Board of Directors of the Gulf Qatari Classic Car Association, speaking about the event and its partnership with Msheireb Properties. Officials of Gulf Qatari Classic Car Association, including its vice-president Omar Hussain Alfardan, Msheireb Properties Marketing and Communications head Dr Hafez Ali Abdulla, and a number of ambassadors from different embassies attended the opening of the event that runs until April 11.
According to the organisers, the car selection that includes brands such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Rolls-Royce, Fiat, Chevrolet, Pontiac and Jaguar, among others, reflects the choices made by residents of Msheireb in the past, especially during the 1960s and 1970s. PICTURES: Thajudheen
