Division H of (District 116-Qatar) of Toastmasters International recently conducted its maiden annual conference ‘Harmony’. The event was held under the leadership of Division H director Krishna Saini and with the teamwork of Balkees Naser and Shoaib Asghar. Ace speakers from across the division comprising 14 clubs spread across the four areas attended the contests. Ram Mohan Nair (humorous and international speech categories), Balkrishna Karande (table topic) and Sahitya Reddy (evaluation speech) won the contests and moved into the district finals. The highlight of the event was a keynote speech on 'Leadership...It's not about the title,' by immediate past international president Richard E Peck.
District 116 Toastmasters Annual Conference (themed Qatar Speaks) is to be held on May 13 and 14 at the Torch Doha Ballroom.
