Graduates, Mariam al-Meer ’12 and Maryam al-Mannai ’17 from Qatar Shell returned to the Texas A&M University at Qatar (Tamuq) campus in Education City to give guest lectures in dean César Malavé's Economic Analysis of Engineering Projects class.
Al-Meer - Tamuq’s 2019 Alumnus of the Year - and al-Mannai, along with Robin Tan and Dale Iranon of Qatar Shell's economics team, presented two lectures on the topic of value-based decision making.
“This course teaches engineering students the basics of evaluating an engineering project in terms of its economics,” Malavé said. “It was a pleasure to have the Qatar Shell team in class to teach my students real-world applications of what they’re learning in this class. That two of those presenters are graduates of this university is even more meaningful to our students.”
