Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF) started its first activities as part of the Ramadan Sports Festival on Wednesday.
Eight events are being held for sports fans from across the community during the festival. The Ramadan Sports Festival opened with the first-ever men’s beach volleyball tournament on the Aspire sand pitch at Aspire Park as well as women’s basketball and women’s volleyball at the Ladies Sport Hall.
AZF facilities will continue to host eight team competitions at Aspire Park, The Dome and Ladies Sport Hall. These will run until April 17 from 9.30pm to midnight, and are as follows:
* Beach Volleyball Competition for men: April 6-10, Aspire sand pitch
* Football Competition for men: April 9-13, warm-up track
* Basketball Competition for men: April 12-17, Aspire Dome, Multipurpose Hall
* Football 4x4 Competition for men: April 13-17, Aspire Football Public Courts
Ladies competitions in co-operation with Sports Lab Academy:
* Basketball Competition for women: April 6-14, Ladies Sport Hall
* Volleyball Competition for women: April 6-12, Ladies Sport Hall
* Football Competition for women: April 9-14, Ladies Sport Hall
Special Needs competition in co-operation with Qatar Paralympic Committee:
* Special Needs Table Tennis Competition: April 11, Aspire Dome, Multipurpose Hall 1
