The region’s leading local tech company talabat has reiterated its commitment to the Qatari market by launching a number of initiatives and career opportunities to attract and empower local talent.
"talabat Qatar believes that working with educational institutions is key to reaching its goal of empowering local talent, and therefore in 2022 the company signed agreements with a number of universities," a statement explained.The agreements with institutions including Qatar University, Hamad Bin Khalifa University, and University of Doha for Science and Technology (formerly CNA-Qatar) focus on facilitating training and employment for youth talent across the country.Today, talabat has more than 200 employees based in Qatar, and is continuously attracting and empowering local talent to benefit from the career opportunities talabat Qatar offers them. Additionally, talabat believes in supporting local products, and the company highly promoted Made-in-Qatar products by providing their first shipment to talabat Mart in other countries around the region, starting with Kuwait. Moreover, talabat participated in the Qatar National Product Week by highly promoting Qatari products to all talabat customers. From a social development perspective, talabat has partnered with major charities in Qatar, focusing on various causes, from fighting hunger to promoting education, and raised more than QR2mn for Qatar Charity in 2021. The platform has also collaborated with Ehsan Center, to provide special boxes to seniors in Qatar, thanks to talabat riders. Francisco Miguel de Sousa, managing director at talabat Qatar said: “Since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, we have significantly expanded our operations in Qatar to provide a great experience to everyone using the talabat app around the country. This has resulted in our team growing to more than 200 employees based in our Qatari offices.
