Qatar Leadership Academy (QLA) won gold at the first edition of the School Excellence Award, organised by the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, under the auspices of the Minister of Education in Saudi Arabia, and in the presence of council members of the Ministries of Education from Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
Jameel al-Shammri, director of QLA, part of Qatar Foundation said: “Along with promoting a culture of excellence and leadership by adopting modern educational programs and leading creative practices, I hope that this award will continue to motivate the desire for excellence and creativity in the Academy for many years to come. I thank the programme leaders of the Arab Bureau of Education for their acknowledgement and wish them every success in the future. I also thank the Qatar Leadership Academy community for the outstanding contributions that they have made.”
One of the educational projects QLA submitted was the Environmental Sustainability and Agricultural Greenhouse Project. This project has constituted an opportunity for true partnership between the academy and the local community and is a model for applied and cooperative learning among students, and a means to develop health and nutritional awareness among community members.
The award aims to recognise those outstanding in this field, as well as deepen the concepts of excellence, encourage educational institutions to develop their performance, and promote positive trends towards knowledge and scientific research. It also aims to instill a sense of innovation in educational institutions and raise the spirit of competition among educational institutions in the field of scientific excellence.
