Indian expatriate forum KSQ celebrated its annual day. Indian ambassador Dr Deepak Mittal was the chief guest. Other invitees included Indian Cultural Centre president P N Baburajan, vice president Subramanya Hebbagelu, KSQ former presidents, advisory committee members V S Mannangi, Deepak Shetty and H K Madhu.
The event started with the lighting of a ceremonial lamp and a group song 'Hacchevu kannadada deepa', penned by D S Karki and rendered by KSQ management committee members.KSQ women's secretary Susheela Sunil was the host of the event.KSQ annual souvenir 'Srigandha-2021' was released by Dr Mittal and other dignitaries.Kannada teachers Pradeep Kumar Dileep, Yogesh Pai, Vasanta Kumar and Kalavathy Shetty were felicitated on the occasion for teaching the language to children every Friday morning despite their preoccupations. The evening was filled with various entertainment performances starting with a classical welcome song followed by a folk song, a skit and concluding with a tribute to the late Kannada film star Puneeth Rajkumar in the form of a medley dance by children.
