Australian meat is the perfect choice for Ramadan dishes as constant government monitoring ensures strict Sharia standards are met by producers before they are entitled to label their food with the halal certification mark, a statement from Meat & Livestock Australia (Mena) has said.
“Australia produces some of the best quality lamb and beef in the world, with the red meat industry following the highest meat production standards from paddock to plate," explained Sam Gill, regional manager for Meat & Livestock Australia (Mena).
"Australian lamb and beef are a superior choice for both traditional and international dishes. The consistent texture, unique flavour profile, and numerous nutritional benefits makes it quintessential. Australian cattle and sheep are raised on expansive pastures covered with rich native grasses, fresh water, and clean air, contributing to the renowned rich flavour, tenderness and nutritional value of the meat," the statement added.
