The Community College of Qatar (CCQ) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Qatar Voluntary Centre (QVC) to promote the culture of volunteering in society and strengthen co-operation in the area of training volunteers on public relations and protocol inside and outside Qatar.
The MoU was signed by CCQ president Dr Mohamed Ibrahim al-Naemi, and QVC executive director Moeed al-Qahtani. The signing ceremony was attended by a number of senior officials from both institutions.
The MoU aims to establish co-operation in various areas, including exchange of expertise, researches, studies and data supporting the objectives of the MoU; contribution to the programmes and activities of QVC that are relevant to CCQ’s goals; and organisation of joint events.
Dr al-Naemi said: “The MoU reflects CCQ’s belief in the important role that voluntary work plays in the development of the individual and the society, and supports our efforts to invest in the human capital and promote social and civil engagement on campus and in the society.”
“It is our pleasure to partner with Qatar Voluntary Centre, being the permanent and integrated headquarters for incubating volunteer activities and work, and we are looking forward to receiving QVC’s volunteers at CCQ and enhancing our students’ skills and engagement in volunteer work to serve the community,” he added.
Al-Qahtani highlighted the significance of signing the MoU with CCQ and said; “We hope that the agreement will support volunteering and for the students of the Community College of Qatar to benefit from it and to be effective elements that push volunteer work to new heights.”
The two parties agreed that the MoU would be a basis for further cooperation, with the possibility of enhancing the cooperation areas in the future to promote their common interests.
