McDonald’s Qatar, fully owned and operated by Al Mana Restaurants & Food Co has partnered with Tayf, a Qatar Charity programme that collects in-kind donations, to set up Happy Donation Boxes across its six flagship branches during the holy month of Ramadan.
Customers can donate toys and books in good condition to families-in-need through the Boxes, thereby practicing one of Ramadan’s valued rituals of giving, a statement said. Additionally, like previous years, customers will continue to enjoy free soups and dates with every meal purchased during Ramadan. McDonald’s Qatar collaborated with KidZania Doha, to commemorate Garangao, fostering social engagement and instigating young people to learn more about the special community day. Together, the quick service restaurant (QSR) and the interactive city partnered to offer activities such as arts and crafts, Build-A-Burger in a McDonald’s Mini Kitchen, theater shows, social media trivia, goodie bags, and much more to educate children of all ethnicities about Garangao and the Qatari culture. Children were also provided Happy Meals during the event.McDonald’s Qatar, this year, joined the GCC-wide McDonald’s campaign “A Full Heart is All You Need”, which seeks to promote Ramadan values such as doing good, optimism, and care for others amongst the next generation who may be discovering and navigating Ramadan for the first time. The community campaign consists of daily goals, challenges, and quizzes on its social media pages.Commenting on their initiatives, Development License Partner and Licensee for McDonald’s Qatar, Kamal Saleh al-Mana said: “Over the years, ever since we first opened our doors in Qatar in 1995, we have become a household name in Qatar and an active participant in nearly every community celebration in the country. We will continue to invest in our country and our community, to have McDonald’s Qatar available to the entirety of Qatar.” Mithqual Abu Nasser, general manager of McDonald’s Qatar, elaborated, “This Ramadan, McDonald’s Qatar will be delivering Feel Good Moments throughout this joyous month by offering soup and dates with every meal purchased, and by setting up our ‘Happy Donation Boxes’ across six of our flagship restaurants.”
