Katara Ramadan activities continue

Ramadan activities at Katara – the Cultural Village are continuing to witness increased participation of people of different ages.

The number of participants in the Katara PlayStation Championship was 300, with the deciding rounds beginning Wednesday with eight contestants in two groups.The championship's final will be held on Friday.Other activities include various folk games that attract both the young and old.Katara, through this initiative, is looking to promote and revive folklore, and introduce the younger generation to it.At the theatre on the southern side of Katara, children in traditional clothes participate in various performances that include the singing of traditional songs.This event, which includes various interesting games, is of particular interest to Qatari children and families.Parents who accompany the children expressed happiness that their young ones have the opportunity to know about such games, adding that these initiatives made them nostalgic.They thanked Katara for this opportunity.The checkers game will be held tomorrow and on Friday as part of the Katara Ramadan Championship on the southern side.The winner will receive QR6,000, while the second and third place holders will get QR5,000 and QR4,000, respectively.
