The MES Alumni Association (MESAA) has launched its own Toastmasters club. The event with the theme 'The Reunion,' witnessed a good turnout of alumni members and Toastmasters headed by the MESAA president Shaheen M P, Toastmasters District leaders, members from Talking Matters Toastmasters Club and Flaming Spirits Toastmasters Club, the sponsoring clubs.
Sergeant-at-arms Kishwar Jahan kick started the meeting. In his opening address, Area 9 director and the presiding officer Pradeep Kumar explained about Toastmasters as an organisation and shared his experience on how Toastmasters helped to build and reinforce public speaking skills in scores of people.
Freeda Lobo was the Toastmaster of the evening. The first speaker, Jinesh John, delivered his ice-breaker speech titled ‘Never Give Up’ and shared his experience on how perseverance can find victory.
The second speaker, Pooja G, Area 9 secretary, delivered a speech titled ‘The Big Question’.
The Table Topics master Smitha Abraham conducted a well curated questionnaire and repartee.
Ram Mohan Rai conducted the evaluation session and gave feedback through his years of experience as a Toastmaster. He was aided by Mohammed Anseer and Hitesh Savaliya, Abhina Pradeep and Midhun Mohandas.
The MESAA Toastmasters Chapter was launched officially with the introduction of president Shaheen Backer, vice president (public relations) Amanat Solanki and secretary Abhishek Gupta.
District director Manzoor Moideen and club growth director Ravi Shankar spoke. Vineet Nambiar and his team at Mavericks 365 and Toastmasters Pooja and Abhishek Gupta organised the event.
