The Ministry of Labour is organising an occupational safety and health conference today on the occasion of the celebration of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work.
The conference highlights the efforts made by the various authorities, institutions and companies operating in Qatar in the context of educating workers at all levels of the standards and requirements for occupational safety and health, in addition to presenting the most important achievements and honouring distinguished companies in these fields.
The Ministry of Labour has implemented, during the last period, an integrated plan with the aim of spreading awareness among employers and workers in the field of occupational safety and health, by addressing companies and operating institutions to organise awareness events on the importance of adhering to all conditions and standards of occupational safety and rewarding outstanding workers.
The International Labour Organisation celebrates the World Day for Safety and Health at Work on April 28 of every year since 2003, stressing the prevention of accidents and diseases in the workplace, and April 28 is the day set by the trade union movement in the world, to remind the victims of occupational accidents and diseases.
