The Department of Haj and Umrah Affairs at the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs has held a meeting with operators organising Haj trips.

They were briefed on the latest updates regarding the procedures to conduct Haj trips for the year 1443 AH and stressed the need to abide by the terms and conditions adopted by the authorities concerned, local Arabic daily Arrayah has learnt.

The operators of Haj trips told the daily that the department informed them that registration for Haj this season is limited only to Qatari citizens based on the allotment for Qatar.

The department also listened to their suggestions and recommendations to carry out a successful Haj season.

Recently, the ministry announced that registration for citizens wishing to perform Haj for the year 1443 AH, would begin on April 27 (Ramadan 26) through this website - http://hajj.gov.qa The registration will continue until Thursday, May 12 (Shawwal 11).

The conditions set by the Saudi Ministry of Haj and Umrah for applicants registering to perform Haj were also highlighted. These include the following:

- The applicant should be between 18 and 65 years of age.

- The applicant should have received ‘basic doses’ of the Covid-19 vaccine. Also, applicants can make calls from 9am to noon and from 4pm-8pm from the second day of Eid al-Fitr
