Malarvadi children's organisation Rayyan zone won the champion title in the 12th edition of Holy Qur'an competitions, held in connection with the holy month of Ramadan.
Madina Khalifa zone and Doha zone were second and third, respectively.
Primary round competitions took place at 40 Malarvadi units, where hundreds of children under 13 participated in junior and senior categories.
Qur'an Hifz, Qur'an Recitation, Qur'an Quiz and group songs based on Asmaul Husna competitions were held.
Finalists were selected from semi finals competition, staged at Rayyan, Doha, Wakra, Thumama and Madinath Khalifa zones.
Winners - first, second, third positions, respectively: Qur'an recitation - junior: Amina Aza, Fellah C K, Praveen; Hifz: Aahil Anas, Parveen, Muhammed Eshan; Qur'an recitation - senior: Abeed Rahman, Faiha Shahid, Aisha Abdul Naser; Hifz: Abeed Rahan, Aisha Abdul Naser, Faiha Shahid; Qur'an quiz: Ihsan Masoud, Mohammed Shahzad, Ahsab Anees (Wakra), Adheel Zanoon, Azwa Fathima, Suhan Nadeer (Rayyan), Rifa Fathima, Ayisha Abdul Naser, Sadeeda (Madinath Khalifa); Group song: Muzna Bassam, Adil Zainab, Adin Noujas, Meharin Haris, Ayisha Leen (Rayyan); Parveen, Leen Fathima, Fathimathu Zuhra, Aleesha, Irfan (Doha); Rayhan, Zahra Ayisha, Alesha, Nazmin, Nooh Naser (Wakra).
Prizes were distributed by the Centre for Indian Community vice president Yassir E, general secretary Noufal Palery, Rayyan zone secretary Abdul Jaleel M M, Women India general secretary Sareena Basheer , Malarvadi co-ordinator Ilaihi Sabeela and Sauda Abdul Qader.
Mohammed Shabeer presented the Qur'an quiz, Afeefa, Muneefa, Fasila, Fayisa, Nusrath, Shabana Shafi, Shahna, Ali Illath, Saheer Babu and Mehjabin controlled the function.
