The Bosnian community in Qatar served Iftar meals to 402 workers in different areas of the country. The distribution was made possible by the generous contribution of Bosnian residents in Qatar and organised in collaboration with the Wa’hab - a local company that aims to reduce food wastage.
Bosnian community member Vahid Suljic said: “We are very proud of all Bosnians in Qatar who are constantly engaged in delivering greater good to the community. The holy month of Ramadan is a unique opportunity to demonstrate the importance of charity work and its benefits to society."
His compatriot Adnan Dzakmic said: “It is through these activities that I realised the true power of volunteering and its role in building a happy and connected society. In every activity, we strive to involve our kids to teach them the importance of communal good and belief in things bigger than themselves, an important trait in our times.
“Ramadan is a month of blessings from Allah. We want to share the blessings we have received from our Lord with our brothers and sisters who are in need,” said Alem Genjac, another member of the Bosnian community.
Suljic also emphasised the importance of serving not only during Ramadan but throughout the year.
