Al Markhiya Gallery has announced the arrival of the itinerant exhibition, 'Beyond the Distance', in Doha on May 9.
Art lovers will be able to experience a unique and distinctive collection of carefully curated paintings by the three participating artists - Salman al-Malek from Qatar, Mohamed al-Jalous from Jordan and Qasim al-Saadi from Iraq.
The works that were previously shown in the first phase of the exhibition, during its trip to the Cairo Amman Bank gallery in the Jordanian capital, will highlight many of the techniques created by these artists over several years of practice. The artistic trio will recreate in one place a unique experience that addresses the "sudden changes in our lives and our creative spaces".
Al Markhiya Gallery’s art co-ordinator Anas Kateet said that in light of the frequent closure of exhibition halls, and the precautions applied in the event of organising a cultural event, this exhibition will transcend the barriers of limited mobility by travelling to three countries well-versed in the love of art.
Fans of plastic art will get to see a unique and distinctive experience of carefully selected paintings. Although they differ in terms of the techniques used, they are consistent in their implementation. Despite the difference in the three experiences in their form, their meeting in one space embodies a unique artistic scene that doubles the strength of the experience for those who will attend the exhibition.
The exhibition confirms that the artist does not work in isolation from the struggles that humanity is going through, but is rather affected more deeply by them. The artists bravely confronted loneliness, and often eased the impact of isolation on others.
Hence, the three artists from different artistic schools had the idea of working on a unified exhibition that embodies this yearning for harmony amid difference, and to celebrate the aesthetics of exclusivity that enriches dialogue and neighbourhood.
The exhibition is scheduled to move to other art galleries after Al Markhiya Gallery in Qatar. It will travel to Frank Felkenhausen in the Netherlands, in addition to two countries in northern and southern Africa, as scheduled.
