After delighting spectators through an array of shows, activities and performances, the Eid al-Fitr celebrations by Katara - The Cultural Village concluded on Thursday.
An official Katara statement noted that the celebrations dazzled visitors with the entertaining and artistic performances.
Katara Beach witnessed a large turnout of swimming enthusiasts yesterday. The folkloric performances of popular groups won accolades from the spectators, who noted that the programmes achieved success throughout the Eid days.
“The closing day witnessed the flock of thousands of visitors who came to enjoy the diversified entertainment program prepared by Katara for its audience, including families, children, and other members of society,” the statement said.

Salem Mabkhout al-Marri, director of Public Relations and Communication at Katara, expressed his happiness with the resounding success and the great public turnout achieved by Katara. He thanked all the media for their interest, coverage, and support for the Eid events and activities at Katara, saying that the various media outlets, including newspapers, radio, television and satellite channels, are partners in this great success achieved by this distinguished celebration.
On the final day too children, accompanied by their families, relatives and friends, were given gifts. The special performances by popular groups from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Morocco and Syria also won praise. The bands included Qatari Women’s popular Ennahda Band, the Saudi Hijazi Band, the Moroccan Wlad Al Mizan Band, the Egyptian Golden Eagle Band, and the Syrian Afrah Al Sham Band.
Steps were taken to distribute various events throughout Katara while following an appropriate timetable and avoiding overcrowding in order to help visitors enjoy the various activities.
