National Cyber Security Agency highlights its services at Milipol Qatar 2022

The National Cyber Security Agency participated in Millipol Qatar 2022, which was held under the patronage of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani from May 24 to 26.
Through its pavilion at the exhibition, the agency presented the services it provides to entities that aim to secure, protect and promote cyberspace in Qatar through its programmes and specialised training, according to a press statement.In this regard, Abdulrahman bin Ali al-Farahid al-Malki, President of the National Cyber Security Agency, said the agency aimed, through its participation in Milipol Qatar 2022, to enhance collaboration between all sectors in the country. He stressed Qatar's efforts to enhance the connection between different sectors, service providers and supply chains as they are considered key partners in enhancing cybersecurity.He pointed out that through its pavilion, the agency presented the most prominent services it provides, as well as the different training courses that aim to enhance and develop capabilities and foster skills required to combat cyber risks.He added that the agency has trained about 25,000 employees in the country from March 2021 till date and is looking forward to train more individuals in order to ensure a solid and secure cyber environment.On the sidelines of Milipol Qatar, al-Malki met with Maj-Gen Marc Boget, head of command of the French National Cybersecurity Gendarmerie. The two parties discussed bilateral relations and ways to develop and strengthen them.The National Cyber Security Agency sponsored the third day of the exhibition by providing seven specialised training workshops in the field of cybersecurity and information security and data privacy.Maj-Gen Boget delivered the first workshop followed by a presentation by Khaled al-Hashemi, Assistant Undersecretary at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, who both stressed the importance of securing information and data.The second workshop was titled 'Effective Cyber Diplomacy' and was presented by Dr Noora Fetis, associate professor at Qatar University and founding secretary-general of the Arab Association for Cybersecurity - Union of Arab Scientific Research Councils.Noureddine al-Kalabi from Al Jazeera News and Kanan Begovic from IBN Group presented two workshops that stressed the importance of maintaining the security and robustness of cyberspace.Dana al-Abdulla from the National Cyber Security Agency presented a workshop titled 'Different cyber strategies - one goal', where she discussed the most common cyber threats and the tactics used by hackers. She also touched base on the importance of looking at cybersecurity from a strategic rather than purely practical view. A group of experts from the National Cyber Security Agency presented different workshops that discussed the penetration of highly secured networks, the methodology of professional hackers in searching for undetected vulnerabilities, ways and means to break multi-factor authentications, in addition to ways to bypass protection systems. The workshops also discussed securing social media accounts and the safeuse of 5G networks, in addition to the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and the benefits of using 5G technology, as well as various applications, risks and threats.
