QU Health graduates first physical therapy batch

QU Health, part of Qatar University (QU), celebrated the graduation of its first batch of physical therapy students from QU’s College of Health Sciences (CHS). The 17 students graduated following four years of study and obtaining a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy, launched in 2018 as the first academic programme for practicing physiotherapy in Qatar.QU vice president for Health and Medical Sciences Dr Asma al-Thani stated: “This new achievement represents a new and fruitful addition to QU Health.”CHS dean, Dr Hanan Abdul Rahim said: “The vision of the programme, since its inception, has focused on contributing to the health care cadre in Qatar by preparing highly knowledgeable graduates.”The Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science's acting head Dr Linzette Deidre Morris, said: “We look forward to noting how the graduates contribute to the health care system in Qatar, how they systematically enhance the current physical therapy services in health centres, clinics, and hospitals in Qatar, and how they develop as health care professionals.”Ilham Abdul Wali Rawani, a graduate from the physiotherapy programme said: “I look forward to improve the quality of life for patients in health institutions in Qatar. I also aspire to complete postgraduate studies at Qatar University and look forward to a career in academics and research.”
