HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi, honored 60 school assessment specialists who obtained the license of an 'accredited international assessor' from the Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges (ACS WASC) at a ceremony held by the Ministry on this occasion.Assistant Undersecretary for Evaluation Affairs at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Khalid Al-Harqan said the field of quality and school accreditation in education is considered one of the major issues on the world's level due to its importance in achieving qualitative reform in the educational system in all its components, and at the same time it shows strengths and improvement that contribute to addressing many of the fundamental educational and organizational challenges in schools. In his speech at the honoring ceremony, Al-Harqan noted that the Evaluation Affairs Sector at the Ministry was keen to focus on developing schools performance evaluation processes using international standards and indicators that were established according to accurate scientific rules, to establish honest and objective judgments about evaluating all areas of educational operations for schools and kindergartens in the State of Qatar to ensure that every student in our schools receives a high-quality education in accordance with their educational needs, Islamic values and national identity."He pointed out that the school evaluation system in the State of Qatar began in 2006, and that the national school accreditation system was launched in 2011, where nearly 1,000 school evaluation and accreditation processes have been implemented for public and private schools and kindergartens since 2006 until now.For her part, Director of the School Evaluation Department at the Ministry Muna Al-Kuwari said that Qatar is the first country in the world to grant a school evaluation specialist an "accredited international assessor license", as a training program was designed and implemented with the American "ACS WASC" organization for school accreditation for school assessment specialists in QatarThe American "ACS WASC" accreditation organization, a well-established global accreditation organization, is one of six regional accreditation organizations in the United States of America, and it has more than sixty years of experience in the field of school accreditation inside and outside the United States of America and has close partnerships with other international accreditation organizations .The Evaluation Affairs Sector of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, under the agreement with the organization, will evaluate other schools inside and outside the State of Qatar in the future, within the joint work plan with it, which contributes to exchanging experiences and acquiring more global skills.
