Doha Academy year 12 students celebrated the end of Academic Year 2022 with graduation ceremonies on Saturday.
"Graduation Day is the culmination of many years of hard work in the British system at Doha Academy, culminating in the completion of A Levels," a statement explained on Sunday.
The ceremonies involved a march of students, reading of speeches, a Qur'an reading, presentation of the diplomas and the official moment when the students were declared graduates.
Harvey Trump (head and principal of Doha Academy Schools), Nora Nestor (head of Teaching and Learning for All Schools) and Sdaqat (head of Secondary), DA schools’ academic staff, parents and friends were present.
Sdaqat Jabeen (head of Secondary) shared a message congratulating the students on their outstanding achievements where they attained a record number of Grade 9's, the highest grades possible in the IGCSE's that are only awarded to the top 2% of all students.
She praised both the girls and the boys on their attainment as global citizens who can attain their dreams. Sdaqat rounded off her speech with a beautiful and heartfelt poem called 'Believing in You' by Catherine Pulsifer as she felt that it encompassed her wishes for them and their futures.
Thereafter, Harvey Trump addressed and advised the students to build on the wonderful opportunities afforded to them at Doha Academy in a bid to ensure they truly believe that learning is a lifelong process. He went on to advise them to utilise the 21st century skills they have acquired through the excellent learning process and teaching from the fantastic staff at the Academy. It is their application of these skills that will set them apart from others in the future, he added.
