DPS - Modern Indian School recently held an investiture ceremony for the senior school prefectorial body (2022-2023) and launched its first-ever art journal, Drizzle.
Indian ambassador Dr Deepak Mittal was the chief guest. School president Hassan Chougule, vice president Yasir Nainar, executive committee members, principal Asna Nafees and key functionaries were present. Dr Mittal advised the young leaders to follow the values and ideals that their school stands for and be the ambassadors of their home country, and the country of their choice, Qatar.
A total of 72 students along with head boy Vidit Chintankumar Dalal and head girl Tejaswi Manoj were vested with posts and positions.
Drizzle was launched to stimulate creativity, imagination and inventiveness, promote cultural awareness and provide the aspiring artists with an opportunity to express their thoughts and ideas. Vice principals Soma Bhattacharjee (senior secondary school), Mary Cruz (senior school), Shifa Shaikh (junior school), headmistresses and key functionaries were also present.
The magazine exhibits around 110 works of art in different mediums and styles, and articles, focusing on key principles of Qatar National Vision 2030: sustainability, cultural conservation and future visions.
