The Alumni Welfare Association Integral University (AWAIU) – Qatar Chapter organised the second alumni meet at the Sheraton Doha recently.
Mohd Farzan Ansari hosted the event along with co-host Dr Mohd Nayeem Amaan.
The event began with the recitation of the Holy Qur'an, followed by felicitation of guests and the appointment of new office-bearers.

The notable guests were Integral University vice-chancellor professor Jawed Musarrat, AMU alumnus Jawed Ahmad, JMI alumnus Shadab Khan, Sheen InfoTech owner Lutfi Kakar, HMC molecular pathophysiology professor Dr Shahab Uddin and Qatar University women researcher awardee Dr Shima Sadaf.
The vice-chancellor appreciated the way the programme was conducted. He was delighted to demonstrate the diversification of the university with students from around the world pursuing different courses and joint research activities, the expansion of the campus with "eye-catching" infrastructure and the set-up of the latest technologies and equipment in the university.
He received accolades from the audience for his outstanding accomplishments.
Professor Musarrat stressed the necessity of adopting technologies and implementing them in educational curricula, which aims to serve as a framework for shaping the future of students.
The association elected its new office-bearers for the 2022-2024 term, with Mazid Ali as the president, Vaquas Siddqui as the chairman, Ali Azeem as the patron and Mohd Farzan Ansari as the vice-president.
The office-bearers pledged to handle the chapter’s affairs ethically and competently, and the newly-elected office-bearers were honoured with the badges.
“Over the past two years, the association has worked closely with north Indian universities to promote educational webinars, blood donation camp, athletic events, recruitment drives and various other activities,” said Mazid Ali.
Azeem and senior adviser Aun Jafar, along with the core AWAIU Association members – Abdul Mohamin Alvi, Sajid Khan, Syed Shafiq and Mohd Irfan - aimed to assist the students from Integral University with internship opportunities in Qatar, as a part of their continued co-operation with the alma mater.
“The reunion of a fantastic past and a promising future marks the end of the second alumni meet, and we look forward to our continued co-operation with our alma mater as a whole,” Siddiqui said while delivering the vote of thanks.
The event concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony and dinner.
