Arabic speaking football fans from around the world can now enjoy a series of interviews with former players and journalists from across the region. Hosted by Mohammed Saadon Al Kuwari, a widely-renowned sports journalist and Qatar Legacy Ambassador, the Fil Zawya 21 podcast gives listeners the opportunity to learn in-depth about the lives of some of the Arab world’s most renowned footballers and media personalities.
“This podcast was a new experience for me on a personal level, one that enabled me to provide a platform for players and others that have played a critical role in successfully raising the level of the game in the region, and discussing some of the challenges they faced in their journey as well,” said Al Kuwari.
The first season of the podcast was comprised of seven episodes and featured interviews with former players such as Morocco’s Youssef Chippo and media personalities like the widely-renowned commentator and host Ayman Jada.
“With the World Cup coming to the Arab world for the first time, we have always been committed to working with our Arabic-speaking Qatar Legacy Ambassadors to create content that is inspired by this historic moment. Having someone with the pedigree and skills of Mohammed Saadon Al Kuwari on our team means that we can create meaningful and engaging content like we see in Fil Zawya 21,” said Faisal Khalid, Ambassadors Programme Lead, Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy.
Other guests to have appeared on the podcast include former Algeria forward Rafik Saïfi and Tunisian legends Tarak Dhiab and Hatem Trabelsi. In addition to football legends, the podcast also featured famous on-screen personalities, many of whom have worked with Al Kuwari during an illustrious career that has made him a household name across the Arab world.
“These conversations that we feature in the podcast will come across so naturally to audiences because I have worked and been friends with our guests for many years,” added Al Kuwari.
