Some 55,894 patients benefited from the medical services and healthcare provided by Hamad Bin Khalifa Hospital in Boutilimit, Mauritania, during the first half of 2022.
Operated and managed by Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS), under an MoU with Education Above All (EAA), the hospital relies on its own resources and infrastructure, with a workforce of 78 specialist physicians, nurses, assistants, social workers, and administrative staff.
Quoting from the semiannual report issued by the hospital on the medical services it provided during the first six months of 2022, QRCS said that the overall budget of the hospital for 2022 is $1,359,758.
It has four medical divisions: outpatient, inpatient, technical, and emergency.
There are six outpatient clinics of internal medicine, obstetrics and gynaecology, dermatology, general surgery, orthopaedics, and dental medicine.
According to the report, the hospital continued to provide training for the students of public health schools, such as the schools of public health in Nouakchott, Rosso, and Kiffa.
As well as its quest to ensure the continuity and comprehensiveness of the development of professional capabilities and human resources in general, reviewing in detail the medical, social and educational services provided by the hospital has been engaged under the national health initiative to combat viral inflammations.
Hamad bin Khalifa Hospital was established in 2007 under the patronage of HE Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, through the Qatari-Mauritanian Social Development Foundation, supervised by EAA.
It pursues the strategic goal of providing high-quality healthcare at affordable prices for the poor, to avoid the need to travel for treatment in Nouakchott or abroad.
