Al Wakra Municipality's Health Control Section carried out 617 field inspection tours on various food retailers and outlets in July and issued 11 violation reports according to law no 8 for 1990 on the regulation of human food control.
The section also supervised the slaughtering of 15,041 heads of livestock at the automated slaughterhouse at Al Wakra and destroyed 520 carcasses in addition to 7,625kg of meat for being unsuitable for human consumption. Further, around 37.5 tonnes of fish were inspected at Al Wakra Fish Market and 197kg destroyed after being found rotten.
