A section of Al Qubaib Mosque Plaza's pond
The pond, spread across 557sqm has a distinctive central fountain, is surrounded by tiered seats that match the nature of the sloping land, and ornamental lighting to match the spirit and design of the garden featuring a variety of plants and trees. There are also pedestrian paths with a length of 1,153m and 66 seats. The plaza, which has three entrances on three sides connected to the surrounding pedestrian paths, is designed for easy access by people with physical challenges.
Al Qubaib Mosque Plaza, with an integrated infrastructure of sewage networks and electricity, can be accessed from the Souq Waqif metro station, or by bicycles or on foot, via corridors and pedestrian crossings in the area. The project comes within the third package of development and beautification projects in central Doha, which aims to create a healthy, social and cultural environment that contributes to encouraging citizens and residents to adopt a healthy lifestyle.

The third package of development and beautification projects in central Doha spans 8.24sq km. The works include developing networks for storm water drainage, sewage, and electricity, planting about 3,250 trees and more than 30,000sqm of green areas, 35.3 km of pedestrian and bicycle paths as well as covering all the main streets with granite.
The project aims to develop the areas surrounding Grand Hamad Street, and inner neighbourhoods in these areas, in addition to developing the Doha Corniche, and the Doha downtown area and residential places. The committee also aims to contribute to creating a community environment with a distinct identity through the participation of community members in artistic works and planting of trees in co-ordination with several ministries and authorities in the country.
