Police College fetes batch from 'Officers of Tomorrow' initiative

The Police College celebrated the graduation of a new batch from the 'Police Officers of Tomorrow' initiative with the attendance of HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior and the Commander of the Lekhwiya Force Major General Abdulaziz bin Faisal al-Thani and a host of officers of the Ministry of Interior.The new batch included approximately 300 students whose age is between 9-11 -- who have received two weeks of military and athletic fields trainings to upgrade their physical fitness and learn the core skills of marksmanship, swimming and self-defence, in addition to the recreational and athletic contests and educational lectures.Police College Director-General Brigadier Abdulrahman Majid al-Sulaiti said that the key objective of the 'Police Officers of Tomorrow' programme, which has been extended since the official inauguration of the Police College, is to instill allegiance and belonging to the country in the heart of the graduates, adding that through this programme the core objective will be achieved to enhance the societal partnership and prepare the military students to carry out the works that benefit the public interest. He called on the graduates of the secondary schools to enroll in the Police College which offers a paradigm education and trainings similar to the long-standing counterparts.Brigadier al-Sulaiti indicated that the first group, which included 300 students, have received multiple trainings for two weeks, explaining that there are two upcoming batches equal to this number.The ceremony featured various skillful shows provided by a host of students which reflected the sophisticated training level, including self-defence skills, handling some security situations by the policemen, arrest and surveillance of fugitives, marksmanship skills and rifle use, in addition to ways of dealing with the international guests during FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.The ceremony was wrapped up by a remark delivered by the student Masoud Obaid al-Marri, who expressed his thanks, on behalf of his colleagues, to the Police College and all its members, who operated on rehabilitating them, upgrading their skills, and transferring their police and sports experiences. For their part, the parents expressed their happiness that their children joined this distinguished initiative, extending their thanks to the Police College, and a number of them confirmed that their children have benefited remarkably from military and sports training, in addition to benefiting from military discipline and commitment training.The Police Officers of Tomorrow programme intends to enhance the values and belonging to the homeland, solidify self-confidence and develop leadership skills, which contributes to raising a generation aware of future responsibilities, and building men capable of continuing the career built by the loyal sons of the country.
