Katara – the Cultural Village Foundation is due to host the Nubian Heritage Festival Monday in co-operation with the Sudanese embassy in Doha.
The two-day festival will spotlight Nubian heritage in arts, music, song, fashion and poetry, especially since it is considered an integral part of the heritage of several Arab and African peoples.
The first day of the festival will see a series of programmes, including poetry and a ceremony to honour outstanding students, in addition to a concert performed by a Nubian band.
There will be various activities tomorrow evening at building No 15, beginning with a lecture on Nubian heritage followed by a Nubian-themed concert associated with an exhibition on Nubian heritage.
The festival comes within the framework of the foundation to extend the bridge of communications and openness on a broad range of cultural windows.
