The Ministry of Education and Higher Education concluded Saturday evening the 'Back to School' campaign, which kicked off on Aug 13 under the slogan "With Education, We Build Qatar". The campaign for the academic year 2022-2023 was organised by the ministry in co-operation with transport company Mowasalat (Karwa) as well as Doha Festival City, which hosted the activities of the campaign.
The campaign targeted all schoolchildren and included a variety of educational and entertaining activities. Awareness on health and safety, general advice and instructions in schools, instructions for riding the school bus safely, and adherence to the instructions and etiquette were taught to participants. In the end, the ministry honoured the organisers, partners and members for their active and significant contribution to the campaign's success.
Director of Media and Government Relations at Mowasalat Khalid Hassan Kafud said that the company was keen through its participation in the campaign to involve students and raise their awareness of the importance of mass transport in reducing carbon emissions and preserving the green environment, in addition to other educational topics. He noted that the company will provide, with the beginning of the new school year, school buses with the highest safety standards that conform to standard specifications and the latest technologies.
These include cameras and sensors distributed around the bus to alert the driver when any student approaches it, as well as monitoring the status of the bus through a central operations room to ensure efficient operation and rapid intervention in emergency situations, in addition to providing mobile maintenance buses distributed in a number of locations.
General Manager of Doha Festival City Robert Hall lauded the great success of the campaign and sought for more co-operation with partners, in line with the mall's society's programme contributing to the development of Qatari society. The campaign saw great turnout by the public and achieved all its objectives through various activities to prepare students to return to school in a positive atmosphere of learning and fun.
