Amir directs to send urgent relief aid to Sudan

Qatar's Ambassador to Sudan Abdulrahman bin Ali al-Kubaisi said that the aid includes foodstuffs that will be directed to the affected people in the state of Al Jazirah in central Sudan
In implementation of the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, an urgent aid shipment from Qatar left for the sisterly Republic of Sudan to support the efforts made by that country to provide relief to those affected by floods and torrential rains in different parts of the country.
Qatar Fund for Development, in cooperation with the Qatari Amiri Air Force, transferred this aid through the Permanent Committee for Rescue, Relief and Humanitarian Aid.Qatar's Ambassador to Sudan Abdulrahman bin Ali al-Kubaisi said that the aid includes foodstuffs that will be directed to the affected people in the state of Al Jazirah in central Sudan, while tents and shelter supplies will be distributed to the affected families in the states of the River Nile and Al Jazirah through the technical field teams of Qatar Charity.
Two aircraft from the Qatar Amiri Air Force, a branch of the Qatar Armed Forces, carrying a shipment of urgent relief aid arrived in Sudan Sunday to support the Sudanese people, as part of an urgent campaign to address the floods facing the country.The aid is provided by Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) in cooperation with the implementing partner Qatar Charity, and in coordination with the Embassy of Qatar in Khartoum.QFFD explained in a statement that the shipment contained 62 tons of food and 600 tents to support families affected by the floods.
The statement added that the shipment was received by Qatar's Ambassador to Sudan Abdulrahman bin Ali al-Kubaisi, Sudan's Minister of Social Development Ahmed Adam Bakheet, the Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid, representatives of Qatar Charity and members of the supreme committee for emergencies.This aid comes within the framework of Qatar's firm commitment to stand by the Sudanese people to deal with the floods and help rebuild the country following the disaster. (QNA)Sudan leader thanks Amir in phone callHis Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani received Sunday a phone call from President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council of the Sisterly Republic of Sudan Lt Gen Abdel Fattah al-Burhan.Lt Gen al-Burhan expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Highness the Amir for the solidarity and support of Qatar to Sudan to overcome the flood crisis that affected several Sudanese states.During the phone call, they also reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen them, in addition to discussing a number of issues of common interest.
