Second edition of 'Ambassadors for Support' programme launched

The Ministry of Sports and Youth has launched the second edition of the 'Ambassadors for Support' programme, which is organised by the Youth Affairs Department, until October 8.The programme is part of the strategic initiatives to support the youth, guide them and invest in their skills and potentials in order to develop an integrated national personality that is proud of its national identity, complies with the Arab and Islamic values of Qatari society, and actively and positively participates in the development of its society.The initiatives also aim to qualify a number of Qatari youth of both genders to be ambassadors for their country in international organisations, conferences and symposiums.HE the Minister of Sports and Youth Salah bin Ghanem al-Ali said the programme reflects the keenness of the youth to represent their country in the best way; adding that His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani has called on the youth to fulfill their social and national responsibilities and to have an active role in making a positive difference in various situations and areas, in the economic, social and political sectors.Therefore, the ministry was keen to embody this call in its vision.HE the Minister noted that the programme also seeks to enable Qatar's youth to represent their country in international forums, through the meetings and topics they present, which contribute to raising awareness about international relations and various issues.He pointed to the importance of the programme's activities in providing participating youth with leadership and technical skills that will raise their capabilities in the field of diplomatic dealing with others and build the personal characteristic of qualified Qatari youth, who make a positive difference and effectively contributes to seminars, conferences and international participation.These knowledge and skills will also contribute to raising the chances of success for young people at the personal level.He urged the participates in the current edition of the programme to have an effective contribution through positive interaction with each other, and to seize this opportunity for further acquaintance and communication between them to exchange experiences, ideas and co-ordination in the service of the country.The participants have passed a number of evaluation stages before joining the programme, and they were chosen from among a large number of applicants.
