*Qatar Investment Authority to invest $3bn in the commercial and investment sectors in Pakistan
His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif held an official talks session at the Amiri Diwan on Wednesday morning.
At the beginning of the session, His Highness the Amir welcomed the prime minister and the accompanying delegation, wishing them a pleasant stay in Qatar. His Highness the Amir stressed the importance of the brotherly and strategic relations between the two countries and their aspiration to enhance economic partnership by raising trade exchange and promoting investments through the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA).
In this regard, the Qatar Investment Authority announced its aspiration to invest $ 3bn in the various commercial and investment sectors in Pakistan.
For his part, the prime minister of Pakistan expressed his thanks to His Highness the Amir for the warm reception and hospitality, expressing keenness to strengthen cooperation between the two countries to achieve common aspirations and develop them to broader horizons and multiple fields.
During the session, they discussed bilateral relations and ways to support and develop them in the fields of defence, economy, investment, trade exchange, energy, and sports, in addition to discussing the most prominent regional and international developments of common interest, especially the efforts made by the two countries to combat terrorism.
