Central Indian Association Qatar celebrated India's 76th Independence Day with a grand cultural show in Doha, with women representing Indian states in glittering jewellery and colourful clothes depicting Indian tradition and culture.
Central Indian Association Qatar celebrated India's 76th Independence Day with a grand cultural show in Doha, with women representing Indian states in glittering jewellery and colourful clothes depicting Indian tradition and culture. Dancers and singers performed at the event. Chief guest Saeed al-Sowaidi praised the good relations between India and Qatar and applauded the work done by Indians in the development sector. Indian community members from various sectors were felicitated. Association president Jai Prakash Singh, vice president Syed Rafi and general secretary Mohinder Bhardwaj spoke. The programme was conceptualised and choreographed by Radhika Sai and Choodamani and co-ordinated by cultural secretary Vandana Raj. The host for the evening was Aafrin Khan. The singers from Doha Music Lovers, namely Jawed Bajwa, Mohinder Jalandhary, Divya Gopi, Pooja, Venkappa, Madhu Vanteru, Sara Ali Khan, Basit Pathan, Arun Lakshmanan, Aslam, Rejin and Sonu Sahota rendered melodies. The other committee members who co-ordinated the event were Ashok Raj, Jogesh Dewan, Diamond Singh, Junaid Shaikh and Clayton.
