From an entertainment extravaganza to cultural delights and adventures in the lap of nature, fans will have a lot to choose from in Qatar during the FIFA World Cup later this year when they are not watching matches at any of the state-of-the-art stadiums.
The Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) has issued a list of events and attractions lined up for the occasion.
"Nothing beats being here during the tournament of a lifetime. Unrivalled excitement, amazing experiences, new discoveries. Stars, shows, attractions, culture and much more await you," the SC has stressed, noting that Qatar offers 3,000+ restaurants, 560km of pristine coastline, 12 archaeological sites, forts and ruins, 30 shopping malls, a 33km cycle path (longest in the world) and 23 museums. Also, Qatar is one of only three countries where the desert meets the sea.
The SC also points out that 75km is the distance between the two farthest World Cup stadiums, highlighting the compact nature of the event.
