The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has completed the 2km rainwater drainage network works around Al Arabi Sports Club, one of the training venues for FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 teams. Ashghal tweeted that the works were completed in co-ordination with the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy and the Ministry of Sports and Youth. Local Qatari companies specialised in road and infrastructure were hired to implement the works, re-pave the road and provide pedestrian paths while maintaining the aesthetic appearance of the area. The works were carried out as part of the third phase of the flood prevention scheme project in Doha South.
