Thousands of people visited Agri Fair 2022, an exhibition organised by expatriate agricultural group 'Green Qatar' in association with Centre for Indian Community (CIC) Rayyan zone to promote organic agriculture cultivation.
The event featured various stalls and presentations by expert volunteers sharing their experience to the public, under the leadership of Ilaihi Sabeela, Hamama Shahid, Sajna Najeem and Nisha Muslih. Cow manure, potting soil, net and plants were available at the stalls. Many types of Indian vegetable seeds and various plants were distributed free.
The presentations depicted different stages of cultivation from how to prepare initial soil, to harvesting with detailed charts and explanation. The inaugural session was chaired by general convener Sajna Karuvattil. Agricultural expert Ankita Rai Chouksey and social worker P K Sauda jointly inaugurated the function.
CIC vice president Subul Abdul Aziz offered felicitations, convener Shafna Wahad welcomed the gathering and group admin Shejeena Jaleel proposed a vote of thanks. Programme committee conveners Abdul Jaleel M M, Siddique Vengara, Haris K, as well as Shabana Shafi, Hafsath Monnakkal, Sherin Shebeer, Sainaba Jaleel, Kamarunneesa, Suneera Salam, Thahir T K and Mohamed Rafeeq with support of CIC Rayyan zonal executive and volunteers controlled the event.
