Atla, Ravishankar win golf tournament

* Tournament was held to bid farewell to Serbian ambassador

 

Qatar Golf Lovers (QGL) organised a special Texas Scramble golf tournament at Doha Golf Club recently to bid farewell to Serbian ambassador Jasminko Pozderac and his wife Ivana. Ambassador Pozderac, a big supporter of QGL and a golfer par-excellence, gave an emotional farewell speech in which he commended the efforts of QGL in promoting social golf in Qatar since 2001. Indian ambassador Dr Deepak Mittal and Kazakhstan ambassador Arman Issagaliyev, who teamed up with ambassador Pozderac, spoke at the breakfast reception after the game. Dr Rony Paul, Karthik Ramaiah and Pavan Singh of Petro-Q Group that sponsored the event, presented a memento to ambassador Pozderac and prizes to the winning team of Captain Mohan Atla (defence attache at the Embassy of India) and his partner Ravishankar. Chandrashekar Angadi was the master of ceremony. QGL president Manoj Megchiani and vice president Sanjay Jain were present.
