The Planning and Statistics Authority (PSA) has released the 103rd issue of the 'Qatar Monthly Statistics' bulletin, which is a series of statistical newsletters released on a monthly basis. According to the bulletin, a total of 629 traffic cases were recorded in July 2022, marking a monthly decrease of 15.7% and an annual rise of 24.3%. Minor injuries accounted for most traffic accident cases during the same month, at 92.4%, followed by severe injuries at 4.5%. Also, 20 deaths were recorded, equivalent to 3.2% of the total traffic accident cases.
Meanwhile, traffic violations fell by 1.6% during July 2022 as compared to June 2022, while it showed an increase of 15.8% over the same month last year.
The demographic statistics revealed that the total population of Qatar increased from 2.38mn at July 2021 to 2.66mn in July this year. Regarding vital statistics, the bulletin said 2,222 live births were registered during July 2022. Also, there was an increase in the number of total Qatari live births by 10.2% compared to last month.
On the other hand, 213 deaths were recorded during the same period, an increase of 19.7% compared to June 2022. Moreover, July 2022 witnessed a monthly decrease of 24.9% and 31.1% in the number of total marriage contracts and total divorce certificates, respectively, compared to the previous month. The total number of marriage contracts reached 280, while 184 divorce certificates were issued. Social security statements reached QR78mn in July 2022 for 14,495 beneficiaries, recording a monthly decrease of 0.2% for the value of social security and a monthly increase of 0.4% for the number of beneficiaries.
