Ooredoo demonstrates support for graduate recruitment at Career Fair

Ooredoo has successfully participated in the Career Fair organised by the University of Doha for Science and Technology (USTD) at it campus.
The completion of the event is an important component of Ooredoo’s efforts to reach out to the next generation of young Qatari national leaders.The event itself was divided into two sections: the Career Awareness Day and the August Job Fair, respectively.In a first for UDST, it organised the event to boost professional awareness and to showcase the job opportunities available to graduates in the government and private sectors in Qatar. Ooredoo Qatar’s HR team’s participation in Career Awareness Day involved a presentation on Ooredoo’s organisational vision, employment opportunities, and career development programmes for recent graduates. After advising prospective recruits on how to apply, a Q&A session followed in which the Ooredoo team met with students and answered their questions. In its efforts to be Qatar’s employer of choice, Ooredoo Qatar’s HR team ran a dedicated booth interacting with students. The team received 145 digital applications from attendees. Ooredoo’s HR team was led by Mariam Ahmed al-Hayki, assistant director Change & Culture; Hamad Mohamed al-Nuaimi, manager Talent Sourcing; and Mohamed Abdulaziz al-Zaman, manager Performance Management.Eman Mubarak al-Khater, chief human resources officer at Ooredoo, said: “Ooredoo strives to retain its status as a ‘Best Place to Work’ in Qatar and has enhanced its recruitment and development efforts in recent years, aiming to demonstrate the incredible range of career opportunities available at one of the fastest-growing communications companies in the world. “Ooredoo’s ongoing attendance at similar careers fairs and steadfast support for the graduate recruitment process reflects our ambition to attract and retain top Qatari national graduates, with a view to further unleashing their potential in our industry.”USTD is Qatar’s first National Applied University and offers applied bachelors and master’s degrees in fields, such as Engineering Technology and Industrial Trades, Business Management, Computing and Information Technology, Health Sciences, and Education. The fair catered both to current UDST students and alumni.
