Sudan commends Qatar's support to flood victims

      

 

 

 

Sudan commended Qatar's rapid response to provide aid to those affected by the floods that hit the country recently. During a meeting held Sunday, the Supreme Committee for Humanitarian Emergencies in Sudan expressed appreciation to all parties that responded urgently and provided their support to those affected by rain and floods, especially brotherly and friendly countries, particularly the State of Qatar.The Committee hailed the great role Qatar played by supporting Sudan to overcome challenges, achieve humanitarian stability and contain repercussions of rain and floods. Minister of Culture and Information of Sudan, the official spokesman for the committee, Dr Graham Abdel Qader, said that Qatar provided, via an airlift, more than 60 tonnes of aid, and stood with the Sudanese people to overcome their crises, address their negative effects and find the solutions to them. The rainy season in Sudan, which peaks between August and September and extends until October, leads to heavy losses in lives and property, damaging large areas of agricultural lands. (QNA)
