Philippine School Doha's PTA elects officers

Face-to-face induction of PTA Board of Directors.
After a three-year delay in changing the guard due to the recent pandemic, the Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) of the Philippine School Doha (PSD) elected its Homeroom PTA officers.
Held virtually, the occasion witnessed 10 members being elected to the school’s PTA board of directors.Leading the new executive board for this academic year is Joseph Marius Macaraig, a long-time Filipino community leader who also served as a member of the PTA board of directors in the past. Joining him are returning previous officers Ismael Benavidez Jr, Dennis Robles, and Joseph Timothy Rivera who also served as president of the board of directors in 2018.Newcomers include Mark Anthony Abendan (vice president), Dr Diane Kristine Joy Bonsol (secretary), Mario Oligo (treasurer), and Romeo Manaois (business manager), together with Jay Carlo Rivera and Jayson Gonzalvo (parent representatives). Complementing the 10-man parent board are appointed teacher representatives namely Apphia Laroa of the pre-school department, Veronica Motol and Maribel Lentejas of the primary department, Daryl Benedict Alicamen of the intermediate department, Arnie Gutierrez of junior high school department, and Arlene Aboga of senior high school department. The new mix of leaders were inducted into office on September 1, alongside other Homeroom PTA members in a hybrid fashion, with Homeroom PTA officers inducted virtually while the board of directors were inducted face to face at PSD.Activities this year would include the traditional sports fest, blood-letting drives , community outreach programmes, online webinars, hosting of community events and with high hopes of launching the first PSD PTA board of director scholar.Several committees have also been created, involving all 26 nominees of the PTA board of directors while all Homeroom PTA presidents have been encouraged to be active this year.
