National Cyber Security Agency organises training course in cyber range simulation

The National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA), represented by the Department of National Cyber Excellence, organised a Cyber Range Simulation course at Qatar Computing Research Institute, with participation of about 447 candidates from various authorities and institutions in the country. The course that lasts for 30 days, targets specialists and professionals in the field of cybersecurity.The Cyber Domain Simulation course is a virtual environment used for training in the development of cyber technology, as it provides tools that help enhance the stability, security and performance of cyber infrastructures and information technology systems. The idea of the training course for the prevention of cybercrime came after testing many bodies in Qatar to know their capabilities and skills in the cyber field and to ensure their ability to protect themselves from cyber-attacks. The program contains technical materials that increase the employees' experience in the field of cybersecurity to bring him/her to the level of an expert, through some theoretical courses that are practically applied in the field of experimental training, to ensure that the employee acquires that experience. The program also includes awareness courses targeting the public employee, not specialists, in the field of information systems and cybersecurity, and will grant an accredited certificate once these courses are completed.Head of the National Cyber Excellence Department of NCSA Dalal al-Aqidi stressed on the importance of the course, which comes within the framework of the training program for the prevention of cybercrime and aims to raise the efficiency of workers and specialists in the field of information technology and security in government agencies in Qatar, in order to achieve the objectives of the National Cyber Security Agency in maintaining and regulating national cyber security, and promoting and protecting the vital interests of the state in the face of cyber threats.The Cyber Scale Simulation Course (Cyber Range), is one of the proactive initiatives in light of the agency's preparations to empower national cyber cadres and enhance capabilities, in preparation for receiving the country's largest sporting event, the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. The agency launched the course within the specialised track of the cybercrime prevention training programme, which targets employees working in state agencies and institutions, to enhance cybersecurity competencies at the national level, Al Aqidi added.The National Cyber Security Agency seeks to enhance cybersecurity competencies at the national level through training and development, to prepare to effectively confront cyber-attacks whenever they occur.
