Qatar takes part in FAO meeting

 

 

 

Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Municipality’s Agricultural Research Department, participated in the preparatory meeting for the ninth session of the governing body of the International Treaty on Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture on August 29 and 30. The meeting was held at the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) of the United Nations office in Cairo, a ministry statement said. Qatar was represented by Hamad al-Shammari, director of the Agricultural Research Department and Aisha Dasmal al-Kuwari, head of the Genetic Resources Department and FAO spokesperson. The meeting discussed the terms of the agreement to be discussed at the ninth session of the Governing Body of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture to be held in New Delhi, India, from September 19 to 24.
