Alfardan Group recently enrolled in an Executive Certificate in Leadership Development Masterclass held on the campus of Georgetown University in Qatar (GU-Q) and led by Georgetown University’s Institute of Transformational Leadership in Washington, DC.
The two-day hybrid course facilitated training needs and knowledge gap analysis that included perspectives from across the diverse portfolio of the Group, with the aim of leveraging a competitive advantage in local and global markets.

The course identified the key topics and targeted training interventions needed for future engagement, which will be incorporated into a customised curriculum development process for the Group. The impact of the course on the management and organisation will also be evaluated to learn information that can be used as a benchmark for future programmes.
Omar Hussain Alfardan, president and CEO of Alfardan Group said: "We continuously aim to work on combining our successes in providing an Exclusive Experience across various fields and leveraging the diversity and access our conglomerate has in various markets. Our management and work style therefore need to be ready to change in accordance with what the market demands by ensuring that we guide, prepare, equip and support individuals to successfully adopt change to drive organisational success and outcomes in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030."

Rodolph Boughaba, associate dean for Executive Education at GU-Q, explained: “The Institute for Transformational Leadership course is one of many professional development programs offered through the Georgetown School of Continuing Studies (SCS) in Washington and facilitated by Georgetown’s Qatar campus. By combining theory and practice, SCS provides enriching opportunities for professionals to acquire skills to improve their performance and add value”.
"At Georgetown, we are committed to supporting Qatar’s national development through transformational executive and professional education,” he said, adding “We are pleased to partner with Alfardan Group to identify leadership training needs and to design relevant, creative, and engaging experiences for the future using our expertise as a leading research university with talented faculty and industry experts from the School of Continuing Studies.”
The expert-led course took participants through a variety of modalities, such as Design Thinking to draw on and build upon their experiences and expertise in their respective sectors, with particular emphasis on Modern Management and Communications to ensure feedback channels and transfer of knowledge; Change Management to adapt to markets as they rapidly evolve; Cross-Pollination opportunities within the group and its subsidiaries; and Adaptability/Transformation to be equipped with the tools to face challenges and adopt a forward-thinking mentality.
