The National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA), in co-operation with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, concluded an eight-day training course with the participation of 685 trainees from school leaders within the framework of the training program for the prevention of cybercrime. This training course aims to enhance cyber security competencies at the national level in preparation for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, in addition to strengthening the country's readiness and developing the capabilities of participants to address and respond to cyber-attacks.In this regard, the Head of the National Cyber Excellence Department of NCSA Dalal al-Aqidi said that the number of participants in the mandatory refresher programme in cyber security reached around 685 trainees from school leaders. She added that this is an initiative within the training programme for the prevention of cybercrime of the NCSA.This course, directed to all employees working in state agencies and institutions, aims to enhance their awareness of the prevention of cybercrime and enhance cybersecurity competencies at the national level.Al-Aqidi stressed the importance that the NCSA attaches to this type of awareness and training programs directed to employees who are not specialised in cybersecurity to enhance their cyber capabilities and culture. She pointed out that technology alone cannot guarantee a completely safe technical environment. There is always the factor of human error, whether it is on the part of specialists in the Information Technology (IT) department or on the part of non-specialised users, and the NCSA seeks to empower this category and permanently provide them with knowledge, training, and security awareness materials. The idea of the training course for the prevention of cybercrime came after testing many bodies in Qatar to stand on their capabilities and skills in the cyber field and to ensure their ability to protect themselves from cyber-attacks.
